The cuisine of Sanlucar de Barrameda has a strong maritime character and its King prawns are especially famous.
The mouth of the Guadalquivir River has always provided the best of seafood: dabs, sea urchin, sea spider, dogfish, Bila, Corvina, flounder, crab claws, mako shark and a myriad of fish and seafood. We have a wide variety of dishes, including: potatoes with cuttlefish, “galera” soup or potatoes with cod, as well as fish stews such as: Devilfish in “Colorao”, dogfish in “amarillo” or with tomatoes.

FROM THE VINEYARDS:
From the union of the Guadalquivir River and the ocean, in Sanlucar, Manzanilla is born, which is the typical wine of this unique town but not the only one. It is nurtured in the wineries until it is mature enough to be one of the most famous of all fortified wines. Sanlúcar wineries also produce large quantities of other wines such as their famous sweet wines, Amontillado, white table wines but Manzanilla, is the flagship product of our select wines.
As for desserts, we can highlight Arab sweetmeats such as, “mantecados”, “turrones”etc., and fried cakes like French toast in syrup or fritters and yolk flans from Sanlucar's convent cloisters.
